2015 Campsite 46: Wrapping up the month of May

Sunday afternoon, several thunder showers hit causing frequent flash flood warnings on the radio. Temps were still warm but folks practically ran from the beach to their cars. Riverlets rushed down the roads to the beach. In between showers, we managed to get 60 of the 90 used sites raked and cleaned so as not to leave the next hosts with a big load on their first day.

The hail was only pea size but it made quite a racket on the roof.

The wind was pretty steady so not so many beach people before the
thunderstorms.

We were awakened Monday morning, June 1, at 5:50 AM by a woman who had just arrived looking for a camp site. She was pleasant but what the heck was she thinking??? Check in is at 2:30 PM. Anyway, she found a campsite she liked and set up her tent.

We were now awake so we got up and got an early start for the move to Port Orchard.

The grass in the yard at home was up to our knees.

I bought 10 pine trees from Kitsap Conservation folks in February. The trees
were pathetic when I got them and none looked like it would survive but when we
got home, 8 of them had 6 inches of new growth on their tops. They may
make it after all.

This last iris was still in bloom. Our neighbor said the rhoddies under our
front deck were huge this year.

On Wednesday, I had to go over to West Seattle on the Southworth ferry.
This "houseboat" was floating on the beach near the ferry dock.

On Friday , we wandered over to the RV dealership in Silverdale. We
found this rig, only a foot longer than ours with many perks that
ours doesn't have. (larger bedroom with space to change, larger bathroom,
2 refrigerators, much counter space in kitchen, etc.). It's coming home to our
house on the 12th,
